Certified course on Personal Protective Equipment

In every workplace, hazards and risks exist in many different forms: sharp edges, falling objects, flying sparks, chemicals, noise, and a myriad of other potentially dangerous situations.

When elimination, substitution, engineering, and administrative controls are not feasible or do not provide sufficient protection, employers must provide personal protective equipment (PPE) to their employees and ensure its use.

Personal protective equipment, commonly known as “PPE,” is equipment used to minimize exposure to a variety of hazards, such as gloves, foot and eye protection, hearing protection devices (earplugs, earmuffs), hard hats, respirators, and full-body suits.

The purpose of this course is to help employers and supervisors understand the types of PPE, learn the basics of conducting a workplace hazard assessment, select appropriate PPE for a variety of circumstances, and understand what kind of training is needed for the proper use and care of PPE.
